Directions to The How Cottage in Patterdale
From the North
Exit the M6 at Junction 40 and take the A66 Westbound (signposted Keswick).  At the first roundabout, take the A592, signposted Ullswater.
Follow the A592 along the side of the lake, through Watermillock and Glenridding to Patterdale.
The How is through the village, approx. 400 metres past The White Lion pub, on your right. If you get to the Youth Hostel you’ve gone too far!
From the South
Exit the M6 at Junction 36 and take the A590/A591 Westbound to Windermere. At the mini roundabout, turn right onto the A592, signposted Kirkstone Pass and Ullswater.
This road takes you over Kirkstone Pass, past Brotherswater and Hartsop, to Patterdale.
Once you pass the sign for Patterdale, follow the road, and once you pass the 30 mph sign you will see the Youth Hostel on the right hand side. Barco House is round the sharp left hand bend, facing onto the road on the left. If you get to the White Lion pub you’ve gone too far!
