The How Patterdale Cottage Access Statement
Overview
The How is a detached bungalow arranged on a single ground floor. We offer self catering accommodation with one double and one single bedroom, a bathroom, kitchen and living room/dining room. The level of accessibility reflects the age and design of the bungalow, and our location in the heart of the Lake District National Park.
The following statement is a summary of our provision. If you have any specific questions please feel free to call us and we will endeavour to help.
We are located on the edge of Patterdale approximately 200 metres from the local shop and places to eat and drink. We located just off the main road which is flat. However there is no pavement on our side of the road.
Access to the main entrance to the bungalow is at the rear of the property, which is accessed from the drive along the side patio which is of slate lakeland stone construction and can be slippery when wet.
Access to the main entrance is up 2 small steps (100mm and 40mm) which is required for drainage purposes.
Within the bungalow the bedrooms are accessed through sliding doors of standard width. However the bathroom entrance is narrow due to the location of the hot water tanks and airing cupboards. This entrance is 530mm wide. There is also only 470mm access into the double bedroom at one point.
We look forward to welcoming you. If you have any queries or require any assistance please contact us.
